An introduction to FreeIPA Identity Management

Abstract

We all know the importance of centralized account information, authentication information and PKI certificate management, but we also know how frustrating it can be configure each component. FreeIPA is a project under the Fedora Project umbrella which combines LDAP, Kerberos, DNS and PKI certificate management into one unified system. During this talk Andrew will discuss how FreeIPA can be used in an organization to simplify centralized authentication of Linux systems.

Biography

Andrew Nelson is a Senior Linux Consultant with Red Hat in the United States with almost 20 years of experience with Linux and Open Source software. He has also been an active participant in the Zabbix community and maintains the Ruby Zabbix API library known as zbxapi. When Andrew is not assisting customers with their Red Hat infrastructure he spends his time woodworking or hacking away in his home computer lab.
